Smokey is a poly-chrome blend of rose, pink and apricot bursting from the throat. It is ruffled and perfectly formed with more rose on the ruffled edge and seen as streaks on the petals. It is a dormant, diploid and at 18 inches, it can be placed near the front of the border. Though it is not very tall I would not call it a mini because the flower is nearly 6 inches. Another benefit is that it is an early re-bloomer so it will help fill in the lull after the irises stop blooming, and then continue into the main daylily season. It is a winner of the Lenington All American Award given to daylilies that perform well in any climate, and the good news just doesn’t stop. Smokey also won the Plouf Fragrance Award.

This compact but vigorous daylily has cute little light apricot blooms with a purple eye zone and a yellow-green throat. It is a small dormant diploid that grows to 18” with 3.5” blooms. Look closely to see the diamond dust on this early/mid-season bloomer. “Dream Baby” would make a nice shower gift…delicate and diminutive.

Doodlebug is a really cute miniature daylily that is only 18 inches tall but is covered with 2.25 inch lemon yellow flowers with a dark purple eye-zone and a green throat. It is an early, mid-season, Dormant, Diploid. I love the contrast when placing her in front of a large spider of a different color.

This cute mini would be perfect for a shower gift. It works great at the front of the border being only 15” and lots of 2 1/2 “blooms just keep coming. A dormant diploid starts early and continues into the mid-season. The little flowers are pale pink with a rose eye-zone and a gold throat.

This is a seedling of Vesuvian. It is not a registered name.
A robust plant with large 6″ perfectly shaped red flowers with heavy substance. The plant is long blooming and also one of the latest blooming in my garden. Fat fans produce sturdy, well branched scapes that are about 24″ tall.
Bud set is heavy and they always open without problems even in cold weather.
This show stopper is fire engine red with a chartreuse throat. A winner! Wish I knew who the pollen parent was.

Rusty orange with a gold throat. This one can vary on the same plant. Some are solid orange and some are slightly bicolored with gold hues on the lower petals.
This little beauty came in a group of seedlings that were billed as “Sisters of Stella”. It is not a registered variety. This daylily was a selection from the breeding program for the famous Stella De Oro, which was not registered. This is a beautiful little mini that would be at home in any collection. It has many of the same attributes as its sister “Stella”. It is a non-stop bloomer, increases rapidly and is 100% reliable.
Early midseason, extended bloom, re-bloomer
dormant, diploid
