Shola is a 28 inch tall dormant tetraploid with extended bloom. It is red orange or “copper” and opens to 8 inches. The golden highlights include a fine yellow edge, prominent midribs and a golden throat. It is a really good grower like it’s parent Mary Todd.

This sturdy, tall (32 inch) dormant, tetraploid is a good bloomer in the mid/late season. The 7 inch flowers are registered as orange but they are more of a golden orange with a star shaped rusty red/orange halo.

Royalty Surprise is a dormant tetraploid that blooms in the mid to late season. It does continue all the way to frost for me. The plant is 36 inches tall with 6 inch lightly ruffled blooms. The rich royal red flowers are edged with a wide cream border that sets it apart from the other reds, and it has a green throat.

Matthew Martin is described as brown over a gold throat. It has ruffled edges on a 5.5 inch flower. The plant is a dormant, tetraploid that is an early middle-season bloomer, that also has extended bloom. I have to say neither the description nor the pictures can show the beauty of this flower. I really think it is my favorite. It is a really rich color that can look different depending on the light. It shows hints of red, gold, copper and purple, and the darker band in the eyezone really makes the throat glow in the dark. The frosting on the cake is the copper diamond dusting that makes it shimmer.
This plant has large fans so an order will be two fans rather than my normal three.

Unregistered Variety
This variety originally came from Jung’s Garden Center. It is(of course) gold; even the throat and stamens are gold. It is a medium sized plant (about 24 inches) with about a 6” bloom. I think it is a dormant, tetraploid and it is a good bloomer and a fast grower.

This lovely lily is cream with a blue violet eye that fades gradually to a lighter shade before meeting the chartreuse throat. Registered at 22 inches(56 cm) with a bloom that is 5 inches(13 cm), but for us she is not that big, allowing her to comfortably hang out at the front of the border. A mid season blooming, evergreen, tetraploid with 8 buds on 1 branch.

This really unusual daylily is registered as being a black red to brown blend with a dark maroon eye above a green throat, but I think it has purple hints too. It is one that really looks different depending on the light and is difficult to catch on film. It is 26 inches (66 cm) tall and the bloom is 5.25 inches (13 cm). It blooms mid season and is a semi-evergreen, tetraploid with 16 buds on 3 branches. It doesn’t spot like some dark ones will.

This one is not often seen for sale. I love the color; I’m going to call it “rusty Red” but it has hints of red, orange and gold. It has a fuchsia eye zone over a gold throat and lighter colored midribs. It is a semi-evergreen tetraploid that blooms midseason and is 24 inches tall. The bloom size is listed as 6.5 inches but I think it is more like 5 inches for me.
